Developed from an early oral storytelling tradition dating back to the dawn of European culture, this is one of the oldest and most vibrant of Europe's mythologies. From all six Celtic cultures - Irish, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, Manx and Breton - Peter Berresford Ellishas included popular myths and legends, as well as bringing to light exciting new tales which have been lying in manuscript form, untranslated and unknown to the modern general reader.

Exploring Celtic Mythology: Creatures in Celtic Mythology
This book is incredibly well written. These stories are fun to read and really engaging. This is no boring textbook; you will have a hard time putting this down. A lot of collections of Celtic myths can be a bit dry but this is not one of them. This book recognizes that a lot of Celtic myths have been Christianized by the monks who wrote them down. It attempts to compensate for that by re-Paganizing the myths. For example, it refers to the Tuatha De Danann as gods and goddesses, not just as spirits or magical humans.
