Editions of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

A few weeks ago I was pleased to announce something readers have been demanding for quite some time… the return of Nic Costa. The original was a script written for performance, which Richard did, of course, so well. Books require a different approach to audio. Just as important a story never ceases to be alive. Then I was asked to turn the tale back into drama for Audible Germany , another learning exercise which opened up fresh possibilities. The book will be out next May from The Dome Press , the new imprint established by David Headley, the chap behind that highly successful London book emporium Goldsboro.

An age-old vendetta between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. The message fails to reach Romeo, and believing Juliet dead, he takes his life in her tomb. The grieving family agree to end their feud. Romeo and Juliet begins as the Chorus introduces two feuding families of Verona: the Capulets and the Montagues. On a hot summer's day, the young men of each faction fight until the Prince of Verona intercedes and threatens to banish them. Soon after, the head of the Capulet family plans a feast.

I enjoyed actually reading Juliet's melodramatic expressions of love That I shall say good-night till it be morrow. Oh Boy! Franco Zeffirelli's movie version of Romeo and Juliet is excellent! Just like reading the screenplay. Loved it!

  1. Romeo and Juliet: ACT I. Volume III . MONTAGUE Who set this ancient quarrel new abroach? Speak .. That book in many's eyes doth share the glory,. That in.

  2. The moonlit balcony scene is a cool gray blue, as is the illustration of Romeo finding Juliet's body. Although the book was translated twice, first from Elizabethan.
